Notes:

Whereas my previous EP 'Quarantino Beats', born during the age of Covid19 and the various lockdowns, was a response on the feelings of people stuck in closed spaces, this new EP can be viewed as a reflection of the temporal version of feelings of confinement.

'Quarantino Beats' came forth through a weird sense of relaxation and letting go, just creative flow and came into existence quite effortlessly.

Enter the Pocket Dimension.

Finally free to move around in this period of renewal and increased (hyper)activity, finding the time to work on new music seemed somehow rather elusive. Also, becoming a father has changed my workflow considerably. Time is scarcity. There is never enough of it. And what remains is subject to further fragmentation.

This new batch of songs represent the idea of moving in a different spacetime continuum altogether, with its own rules and dimensional qualities. Using the tiny fragments of time that are left after the day has ended I managed to painstakingly channel the contours of a new sonic landscape. I was forced to treat time itself differently altogether, the influence on my physical and mental health notwithstanding.

Within the relative short timespan of the building proces all the elements I like about creating music have been imprinted in the songs. Each song operates on its own little time zone. There is a playful dialogue going on between space and time, fantasy and rhythm, if you listen carefully.

Welcome to Kofi's Pocket Dimension !

Inspired by the adventures of my baby daughter, Yotta, these tracks also reflect the playfulness and rediscovery in the present moment. Moving around without a fixed endgoal or preconceived destination.

Ripples flowing from me to you, from you to me, and back again.
